Provides first line supervision of Woodson Incorporated full time and temporary personnel as well as third-party vendors in a safe and productive manner. Manages multiple and possibly conflicting priorities. Proficiently manage a portfolio of multi-disciplined personnel, equipment, project scope, customer requests, and regulations as required for project completion.
To comply and ensure compliance with all Woodson Incorporated Safety Procedures, Company Policies, Practices and Procedures as well as Local, State and Federal Regulations by the employees and vendors under their direct supervision
Develop and Manage the daily and weekly job plans including the work schedule, goals and tasks through the Plan, Brief, Execute and Debrief work management cycle
Coordinate the development of Daily, Weekly and Project level work plans and objectives with the Project Manager
Direct and deploy personnel and equipment to achieve the daily, weekly and project level plans and objectives
Manage employee performance and compliance issues directly with the employees; engaging management and the human resource department as required per company practices
Complete, on-time and cycle, all administrative requirements including but not limited to daily, weekly, monthly, project level reports and data entry
Efficiently manage and maintain Woodson Incorporated tools and equipment including but not limited to basic machine maintenance, scheduled service, and repairs.
Execute all on-site communications including but not limited to daily plan briefings and debriefings, JSA’s, and tailboards.
Respond to Customer and Public requests as necessary to complete the project
Train on-site personnel on proper operation and maintenance of tools and equipment
Maintain minimum stocking level of supplies and tools for equipment repair and crew safety.
Report and document all safety violations, incidents, near misses, and lessons learned to the Project Manager immediately or escalates as necessary
Operate equipment or perform manual tasks as required to complete the project (on an exception basis only)
Load and haul equipment according to driver qualification status.* (on an exception basis only)
Provide Project Manager feedback on plans, performance, equipment or work practices that may improve production and/or safety of the project
Meet with landowners and document conversations
As an employee of Woodson Incorporated it will be required for you to complete work that is not in your job description and may include work that requires physical exertion in remote locations, void of sanitary facilities, in extreme weather conditions both hot and cold and precipitation, during light of day, during the night and quite possibly in flooded areas.
Must be able to routinely lift equipment, tools and materials
Must be available 24/7 to respond to customers’ emergency situations
Must be available to work additional hours, to work in varying or alternate locations, and/or to perform additional duties as assigned by management
Requires physical exertion in remote locations, void of sanitary facilities, in extreme weather conditions
Minimum education required of the position:
High School Degree or equivalent (preferred but not required)
Minimum experience require of the position:
Experience in Forestry/Logging industry (preferred)
Previous supervisory experience (preferred)
Three or more years operating equipment of similar types and application
Equipment Operator 2 Certification
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Outstanding communication, conflict management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work long hours in a high stress environment, including work outside of normal business hours
Basic computer skills; ability to use email, Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to access and input required report data

Max weight both hands – 60lbs (Required to be able to lift up to 60 lbs with both hands.)
Max floor to waist lift – 75lbs (Required to be able to lift up to 75 lbs from the floor to the waist.)
Above shoulder lift – 40lbs (Required to be able to lift up to 40 lbs from the floor to above the shoulders)
Travel Required: 80% to 100%
